Are you frustrated by unexpected high sugar levels even though you have been trying to watch your carb intake?
Are you tired of limited food choices?
Imagine restoring healthy blood sugar levels and A1C levels without restrictive low carb diets!
This concept is the foundation of my work as a naturopathic doctor with diabetic clients.
After all high sugar is NOT the cause of diabetes, high sugar levels are the effect of diabetes.
The issue with type 2 diabetes is that cells are not able to uptake glucose (let glucose in) efficiently and so much of it remains in the blood, resulting in elevated glucose levels.
Why would your cells need glucose? Because it is a primary source of energy! And this is why diabetics are often tired.
Low Carb Keto Diets Don’t Fix Diabetes
Many promote a low carb, “ketogenic” diet, one in which cells use fatty acids (fats and oils), and derivatives known as ketones, for energy, as a way to solve the high sugar situation.
There is lots I can say about this, but for now just consider that
1. Avoiding glucose doesn’t fix the cells’ reduced ability to uptake glucose, so the diabetes isn’t really “fixed” by avoiding glucose.
2. There is hardly anywhere in the world, where carbs are almost completely avoided. Even those who live in the blue zones, those who live the longest and healthiest, don’t follow ketogenic diets.
3. It is a diet that, at least some people, find it hard to stick with for a long time.
To Heal Diabetes (or an disease) You Need to Treat it Cause(s)
I really think the focus needs to be on “fixing” and restoring the cells’ ability to uptake and utilize carbs, not “counting” and limiting carbs.
There are many factors that reduce the cells’ ability to uptake and use glucose, and so my approach with my Diabetes Turnaround clients is to find the causes in each person’s unique situation and then deal with those causes.
Here I am going to reveal one of the most common food ingredients that interfere with the cells ability to uptake glucose, making it one of the main causes of type 2 diabetes.
One of the Most Common Dietary Causes of Diabetes
It is Seed and “vegetable” oil. Things like Canola, soy bean, corn, sunflower, safflower and grapeseed oils. They ae rich in a group of fatty acids known as polyunsaturated fatty acids and without getting into complicated science, I will just state that because they are chemically very unstable, they “ruin” the cells capacity to uptake and use glucose for energy. These fatty acids have a tendency to accumulate in the body over the years.
The problem with these oils is that they are cheaper than other more stable, traditional and healthier cooking oils and fats like olive oil, butter and coconut oil, and so they are widely used in restaurants and in commercially made foods including chips, snacks, cookies and other baked and fried packaged foods.
As an example, the problem with potato chips isn’t the potatoes, but the oil.
To have a fighting chance at overcoming type 2 diabetes, it is important to avoid these types of oils as strictly as possible.
So, if you are tired of feeling one moment good and the other bad, and if you’d like to have a fighting chance at turning your high blood sugar and A1C around start by avoiding these oils.

By the way, as a licensed primary care practitioner I can’t share clients’ testimonials in public, however, the videos below are of students who completed an educational program I used to offer at one point and because these testimonials don’t relate to clinical work, but rather an education program, I am taking the liberty to share these (with their permission of course). This can give you a sense of what is possible.
